Other than new skin, there's new smile!=) On sunday, during the Convent cg, we did Chapter 9 from the Purpose Driven Life book. It's basically about what we can do to make God smile. So one excercise Ko-ko Jit Pang made us to was to first tell everyone one thing you are not happy about yourself. Everyone did this pretty well.
Next, he made us say what we like about ourselves. This...most found hard to do.
Third, he shouted someone's name and anyone can shout out anything good/ positive/ nice about that person. This, i found..was very
very encouraging!=D
What i realised from this is that, we often belittle ourselves and think negatively about how we are, how we look; thus comparing ourselves to other people and concluding that we are not much of good. We are so quick to think about the negative. It was so hard for most of us to say something good we find in ourselves. Why?? Why can't we think highly of ourselves yet be humble?? It's possible. Really.
God must be really sad to see that His children - His creations look at themselves and turn away in disgust. Yes, we are sinners but we do have good and valuable qualities in each and everyone of us that we can thank God for!
So, people...we should not always criticize ouselves and think lowly/ negatively about ourselves. Ok, I'm not saying that u should then be perasan and full of yourselves and bare your chest and think you're
'The Greatest' or
'The Muscularest' or
'The Bestest' or anything like that. It's just that we should be praising God and thanking Him for the good qualities we have in ourselves! Don't you think God would be so delighted to see His precious ones thanking Him for the Good in them??
Think about it...
Another thing that can help us think better of ourselves is to help each other and encourage each other by saying good things and uplifting things to the other person...Not flattering words, but words that are true and encouraging. In Colossians 4:6 it says "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt..." .Sometimes it take our pride to do that..but trust me, you'll feel much better after doing it.
Now, how about the 'not so good qualities'? Well, no one is perfect. Only God. So we should ask God to help us to be better persons and work on the rough edges in us. There's always room for improvement=) Yeah, some corrections may hurt and would probably involve some adjustment and change. But it's all for the better!!
So peeps, you know what to do now yeah?? ;)
It’s dark-a lil dim. Rain is pouring heavily-fiercely. Thunder blasting the sky with thunderous sounds. She’s scared. She’s suffocating. 'She' is….a species of animal I keep. She roams freely in the garden. 'She' is Fluffy..the female dog.Our female dog.
Ok..This is the scene. Fluffyis tied up to the cage...under the durian tree, with a roof above her. She’s still scared..*aih…*.Then..there’s ‘Him’.*UGH!*. He is so unbothered by the crazy pouring rain, her fears, her suffocation. All he’s bothered about is his outrageous obsession and intense ‘passion’ and desire to stick his darn friggin penis into her!
Tell me about too much testosterone and sex drive.Waaaayy toooo much.
‘He’ is Paw..the male dog.Our male dog.(sadly…)
(Back to the scene..)So im there, getting wet and muddy..trying to save the ‘damsel’ in distress. She’s not helping. And obviously…He isn’t either. The chain is stuck and I cant see clearly. My only ‘shelter’ from the rain-the umbrella had been abandoned. And here comes this dog..Paw…wanting to climb on Fluffy.Argh!I could kill him I tell you. Or better..get him totally nuted!!(Don’t take me seriously..it’s just an expression..)
Anyway,at last I got her freed from her prison. No..not the ‘overly-sex-driven-Paw’(sadly..) but from the rain, thunder and suffocation. He stalks her I tell you! He rapes her! Ugh.And I have to witness their ‘session’ of one sided sex. Oh nature!
A few more days…I remind myself.Just ‘a few more days’!!We..the family have been disturbed by ‘sex maniac male dogs’ fighting outside our gate.What more..Paw’s ‘invitation’ and ‘urging’ to Fluffy to make love to him. No more serenity...
Again I say…Oh nature!!
Ok..no intentions of embarrassing any creature here. Just letting out pushed away frustrations and what’s been bottled up these few days.Not good bottling up emotions,you know?yeah..
Oh mating season…go away….FAST!!
**On the other side, to show how bad it was, we..Daddy, Mummy and I tried drugging Paw with my cough drop. It makes me really sleepy and drowsy...so we thought it would work on him since the pharmacies don’t sell sleeping pills. hmphf .It worked just a lil’ teeny weeny bit though..hehe..**
